"FOLIES BERGERE" the longest running show on the strip and one that helped feathered showgirls the image of Las Vegas will close in March after 49 years.
"It's said that they have to do away with history and of a Las Vega icon" said a long time cast member who asked that her name be withheld for fear of early termination.
I knew what she ment,years ago when I first came to Las Vegas I got a job a as a Craps Dealer.It was tough back then,It was all juice ."Who do you know."..

After reading that Front Page article this morning. My mind went back..I've been here 35 years. I've seen all the changes..
I Remember Liberace as a Headliner..I've seen Elvis..Brotherly Laughs,..The Smother Brothers..They were big then, Folk-singing, a joke-telling duo that still stay sharp after 50 years onstage ..A great line."Do you know why we've stayed together for 50 years?" .. "Because we haven't died."..I like that...
I wonder how many of my readers will understand 50 years?
The 'Folies' wasn't the first to go...Gone are my friends. Players all....Gone are the days when Wayne Netwon would do anything to be photographed..When I had to Live On My Tips. ..No Dealers Union Here....
